Starting in the spring of 2007, this book will be added to the curriculum of the Happy Feet, Healthy Food Kids' Club. The children will read or listen to a chapter at club, reread or listen again at home and then complete a Literature Study to earn a "footprint" towards their club ribbon. There are many ways they earn footprints.

Meet Hannah from THE TREASURE OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS

book She's NOT into healthy eating, not at first, that is.....

She's GIVEN UP on running, that is until she meets Toby.

She's QUIT swimming lessons, but maybe she'll find a reason to try once more - maybe.

She's been TAUNTED. Will she emerge from this stronger or not? You'll need to read to find out.

poster Like Hannah and Toby, you can take a journey to find the treasure of health and happiness.

Just click and print this free treasure footprint map. Color in a foot (or paw) print each time you participate in a physical activity or each time you eat a healthy food. And there is plenty of space to personalize your treasure map by writing in the type of "healthy treasure" each footprint represents for you. Did you run a mile? Write mile run above a footprint. Were strawberries part of your lunch? Write strawberries by a footprint. Did you ride your bike? Write bike inside a footprint!

Use this poster as a memento. When it's complete, date it, and frame it! You'll cherish it for years.

illus chap.6The Treasure of Health and Happiness is the heart-warming tale of Hannah, who in a dream adventure - along with her playful dog, Toby, discovers priceless treasures: courage, self-esteem, and the joys of physical activity and healthy eating.
