4th Annual Run, Spot, Run! 2001

    Run, Spot, Run! SPLASHING FUN!
Families and Kids Run a Cross Country Mile

My kids knew well that this was not a race. It was a noncompetitive fun run. We would all be winners for finishing. In fact, I wouldn't even know who would be the first to cross the finish line for I ran towards the back of the pack, just to make sure every kid made it safely in. This is how it should be for young kids.

Kids running with their families, just doing their best, without the pressure or knowledge of who is first or last. As they grow older they will make the choice to enter competitive situations. Some will and will thrive, but I'm hoping that all of my kids will learn to love running for a lifetime regardless of their speed.
