 100 Days - Program Overview

Two Runs
From the Editor: The Run the Seasons program is one of my favorites. It is for every runner, no matter your age, pace, or endurance. The program is for your easy days; the days when you can look around and observe your world. It's the program that I completed with my class in 2000/2001. We ran on the trail, on the blacktop, on a field, and we even counted the days we ran in the gym.
Here's all that you have to do. Choose your charts from the many available on the Run the Seasons Printables page. Use art supplies to record something that you have observed on your run. Forced to run inside? Just look out of the window and record something seasonal or make a 'symbol' of the season on your chart. Do you feel that the spaces on the chart are too small? Then enlarge them on a copy machine.
You may wish to actually collect things that you find on your runs. We brought leaves, acorns, rocks, and other things back to the classroom.
At the end of 100 days send us your chart (or a copy of your chart) and we will send you a Run the Seasons green ribbon.
We also like to get notes, stories, and or drawings at any time from your nature observations and findings on one of your run.
Doing the Log-a-Mile program already? Do this one too! You can do both at the same time. NOTICE TO PARENTS: We can accept any materials from a child through the snail mail but if you would like your child to submit things through the email please consider applying for a PIN for your child. With a PIN, your child can enter information through the email or on online input blanks.
