Our Classroom/Family Fun Run
Getting Ready is Almost the Best Part

Signs will decorate the course!

The kids are psyched for our class cross country fun run.
It's less than a week away and we are on the last stage of our preparation. All the children have been completing their work and they've been on their best behavior. They've also practiced their running for a few months and their mantra has been, "Pace yourself. You can do it!"

Our T-shirts have been designed, delivered and handed out. The medals on 'rainbow' ribbons have arrived. Our last task was to make signs to decorate the course. We made signs with directions, inspirational sayings and just a lot of kids' fun.

Look out! It's a boulder rolling down the big hill.

The kids have never seen the course but they have big imaginations. They know there is a hill but they don't know just how steep it is.

Steep Hill!

Oh, they are just so excited. They watched the video tape by the RRCA on Children's Running Fun, which was intended to be an informational video on kids' races and fun runs , but for my kids it was pure inspiration. It was the only film I have shown this year that they were awed by. I didn't have to ask them to be quiet once. They watched the full half hour in anticipation of their event and the thrill of getting their medals.

Warning for dangers on the trail!
