Notes from California

June 6, 2001
I have only seen one squirrel in the nine months I have lived in California. The rest have probably been eaten by the Mojave Green Snakes. It is extremely hot here. I miss running on the cool Spokane River Centennial Trail where I used to live in the state of Washington.

I used to see deer, chipmunks, rabbits, beavers, squirrels, fish, woodpeckers and lots of big green pine trees!

It was fun! We used to go to the school track too, but you cannot do that here. It is all chained and locked up after school.

I miss my friends but have made new ones here and my Papa and Grandma live here. We are still trying to find a better place to run. The dogs in the neighborhood like to try and get you but my dad protects me.
