by Michele Batz, teacher ![]() Build endurance.To run a kids' 5-K, work on your pacing. Practice running slowly for 10 minutes and then build upon that. By the end of 5 weeks, you'll be running for 30 minutes. Push yourself, just a little. Make sure to relax and have fun. When you feel like walking, really ask yourself, "Can you run just a little bit more?" Before you know it, you'll be finished with the race. - Michele Batz Kenneth Murphy Elementary Running Club in Beach Park, Illinois enjoy Running with the Angels 5-K Race in Lake Forest, Illinois on Sunday, May 16, 2004. The club had 22 runners complete the 5-K race (3.1 miles) and is under the direction of Michele Batz, Physical Education Teacher. Thank you to all the parents giving their children support at the race!
