Run to Read and Write Table of Contents

Notice to Adults Guiding Kids in this FLAGSHIP READING/WRITING program:
Our Reading/Writing response activities are provided for children to encourage them to use critical thinking to analyze material that they have read , to encourage them to innovate upon reading material, by writing a similar story or piece, or just plain to encourage them to read and write.

Children may read any running, health, fitness related book, article, or story for this. Basically anything goes. We will eventually provide a , but you may use material that is not on this list.

We will also encourage you to use articles or stories found on this Web page as your reading material. We will mark pieces articles with our boy or girl Reading/Writing response graphics shown here.

We have also added a 'literature' section. The stories and books in this section are from classic literature and have been highlighted on our KR BOOKMARKS on the front page KR Nav Bar. You can find most of these books and stories at your local library.
The questions below may be helpful when guiding children in what to write:

What did your reading make you think about?
Do you agree with what you read?
Did you learn anything new?
Did the reading inspire you to write or participate in an activity?
What would you like to say to the author?
What would you like to say to the athletes featured in the article?

Additional questions if the child has chosen to 'innovate' on a story (write a new version):

What do you want to keep the same?
What do you want to change?

We have provided a:
Response Form
Blank Lined Form
