![]() RED RIBBON RUN TO READ AND WRITE PROGRAM Directions for the Journal Writing Activities ![]() Run to Read and Write Table of Contents The journal/log entry form is provided for kids to fill out after going for a run. Kids may decide to fill this out only once a month for credit toward the RED RIBBON, or they may decide to use it daily as a tool to keep a record of their running. PICTURE SPACE Space is provided at the top of the form for a child to make a picture of the run. DISTANCE The distance may be measured in meters, miles, yards, laps, blocks, driveways etc. ROUTE The route can be described at a track, field, trail, road, gym, blacktop etc. or the exact location of the route can be recorded. Some runners 'name' their routes. PALS Running buddies or 'pals' can be an important part of your running experience. Record who you ran with if you ran with a partner or group. WEATHER Runners often record the weather in their log books. Please use this space to let us know what it was like when you ran. COMMENTS Use the comment section to jot anything down that you would like to remember about this run. This is a particularly good page to print many of and keep in a notebook. Please remember to count this activity only once per month on your RED RIBBON record form, but feel free to use it everyday! We have provided a Journal Form and a Blank Lined Form if extra space is needed. Please email carol.kids@rodale.com with any questions or comments about this program. Would you like your favorite piece of work published on KR? Send an original to KR on completion of program. Include a SASE and we will return it to you. Privacy Policy of Kids Running |
