Hide and Seek

by Carol Goodrow

Becky: Hi, Billy! Gingerbread Girl and I are playing hide and seek. Do you want to play, too?

Billy: Yes, Becky. I would like to play. Where is Gingerbread Girl?

Becky: She is hiding on Main Street. Let's run to find her.

Billy: Yes, Becky, let's run to Main Street.

Becky: Here we are. Where could she be?

Billy: Becky, look in that pile of brown leaves. Is she in there?

Becky: No, Billy. I don't see Gingerbread Girl in the pile of brown leaves.

Billy: Becky, look behind the brown trunk of the Elm tree. Do you see her there?

Becky: No, Billy. I don't see Gingerbread Girl behind the Elm tree.

Billy: Becky, look in the window of the candy shop. Do you see her with the chocolate candy?

Becky: No, Billy. I don't see Gingerbread Girl in the candy shop.

Billy: Becky, look in the window of the bakery. Do you see her with the cookies?

Becky: Yes, Billy, yes! There is Gingerbread Girl. She is with Gingerbread Boy and the gingerbread cookies. Look! They are running around the other cookies.

Billy: We found you Gingerbread Girl! Come out of the store before the baker sees you! Gingerbread Boy, please come out too!

Becky and Billy: You're it, Gingerbread Girl!
