Becky: Hi, Billy. I'm picking flowers. I have picked twenty. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.

Billy: Hi, Becky. Yes, your flowers are very pretty.

Becky: Billy, is that your new red wagon?

Billy: Yes, Becky. I got it for my birthday.

Becky: Billy, can we put my flowers in your wagon? We can take them home.

Billy: Yes, Becky. Put them in.

Becky: Billy, can Gingerbread Girl get in too? She can hold them so they won't blow out of the wagon.

Billy: Yes, Gingerbread Girl can get in. Hop in Gingerbread Girl.

Becky: Billy, can you give Gingerbread Girl a fast ride? Can you run and pull the wagon? I will run along with you.

Billy: Yes, I can run with the wagon. Let's have some fun! Hold on tight, Gingerbread Girl. Here we go!

There are so many ways to make reading fun. Reading a play is one way. My kids in my first grade class are learning these scripts and will be putting a Becky and Billy play on for parents on Valentine's Day.

We'll be serving gingerbread cookies and candy hearts.
