Billy: Hi, Becky.

Becky: Billy, look at Gingerbread Girl and Gingerbread boy. They are playing by the bird feeder.

Billy: Becky, I see them playing by the bird feeder.

Becky: Billy, look there is a bird pecking at their  heads.

Billy: Becky, Gingerbread Girl and Gingerbread Boy will taste good to the bird.

Becky: Run, Gingerbread Girl, run! Run, Gingerbread Boy, run! Run away from that pecking bird.

There are so many ways to make reading fun. Reading a play is one way. My kids in my first grade class are learning these scripts and will be putting a Becky and Billy play on for parents on Valentine's Day. We'll be serving gingerbread cookies, candy hearts, and red fruit punch. We love to get graphics too. And thanks to Katie B. for the cat.
