TOY PRAYER
In Honor of National Prayer Day, 9/14/01
Back to Kids Running

God bless my Andy and my Ann,
Their smiles and their raggedy hands.
I bring them with me when I run.
We have fun.

Bless the toy knight on my shelf.
He never thinks just of himself.
Fighting dragons and enemies,
He protects me.

Bless the dolly who is sad.
Tell her, "Most people aren't bad."
Hold her hand till she is strong.
Sing her a love song.
Sing her a song.

God bless the world you've made for me.
Spare me from more tragedy.
Make me kind and keep me free.
God bless the world.

Note from Carol: I wrote this prayer in honor and memory of the people who have been victims of the tragedy on Sept. 11, 2001.

The following is part of a letter received from Victor Sailer by Runner's World. Victor Sailer is a well known track photographer and a NYC firefighter.

"It's still mind boggling to even imagine how I may have lost 300 co-workers. Please remember all of those dedicated, hard working individuals, and their families and friends who will miss them. Contributions to their fund may be sent to the NYC Fire Dept Widow and Orphans Foundation, 204 East 23 St., New York 10010."
