This story came from a 'story starter' that goes something like this: Have you ever seen an animal when you went running in the fall? What did it do? Did it run away from you? Write a make believe story and have that animal come along with you for your run.
Once upon a time I saw a deer. It came with me running. The deer and I leaped as we ran.
Suddenly it started to rain, so we ran into a cave. Then we came out. When we came out we saw a rainbow. We leaped over the rainbow. When we leaped and landed we had rainbow bracelets on. They were beautiful. We said, "Thank you," to the rainbow and we went home.
In this story, the colors of fall, are in the shape of a bracelet.
