Run the thrilling and chilling Corn Maze Mile at the Headless Horseman Farm and DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND!!!!

It's just lots of spooky fun for the strong hearted at this Kidsathlon but of course we all know that running is good for your heart. This little girl made at least one half mile lap of the Corn Maze Mile which wound around the woods and then into a corn maze and out onto the fields. There was nothing boring about this race course, with tunnels, ramps and corn that seemed to reach the sky.

But eerie fun or not, this was really a day for health, fitness, skill practice, and competition designed by a runner and retired principal, Dan Bigelow, who resides not far from the land of Sleepy Hollow, the Headless Horseman, and many legends that have been told from generation to generation. Here he is with some of his students. Ready to enroll?

Why not spend a weekend in NY next year and run the Corn Maze Mile. If you do, this is what you can expect: a thrilling and chilling (but safely marked) run through the maze, an hour of practice jumping over the hay bale hurdles to prepare for the Steeplechase.

Lots of time to practice for the softball throw, long jump, or soccer kick and then the competitions! The day promises fun, skill practice and competition, then an evening of hay rides at the Headless Horseman Farm....in the dark.

Here are some photos from the events. I braved out the day but left before sundown. Take a look at the photos and you decide, would you be able to brave a hay ride at the HEADLESS HORSEMAN PARK??????
