We all loved this song when we were young...Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. To children, stars are filled with magic, hopes, and dreams. Stars are made for wishes and they act as guiding lights. KidsRunning asked Kevin McGovern, ultrarunner, dad, husband, and fellow Central Mass Striders team member to give an encouraging message to our running kids and here it is.

My 2.5 year old loves to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.  Hence, our message is:

The stars up above, provide the light,
That protects us all, at night.

Our other daughter is 14 months old.  Both girls love to run. Mom often brings them to the track when I am working out and we warm down together.  In fact, that is what we did after the CVS 5k; we all went for a run together . I was pushing the two girls and my wife Kate was getting her 3 miles in for the day.  Kate is training for the Bay State Marathon next month.  I am training for the Cape Cod Marathon in October and the Nifty Fifty mile in November in Rhode Island.

Kevin McGovern runs on my running team, the Central Mass Striders. He's interested in kids running and would love nothing better than to see many of you as well as his own children become runners for a lifetime. Our business at KidsRunning.Com is to help his dream come true.
