Red Lerille's Health Club hosted their first Kids Triathlon in Lafayette, Louisiana on July 31, 2005. The goal of the event was to promote fitness for kids and every kid was a winner each receiving a medal and a t-shirt. The triathlon sold out at 60 kids and had a waiting list.
It was held in the traditional triathlon format of swim, bike and run. Each child was body marked and given a race number that they pinned on their shirts. The kids were separated into five different age groups. Two hours after the start it was all over and a great time was had by all!.
Fitness is important to Kennedy's family. They include fitness when celebrating special events. Kennedy will be turning 6 soon and she will be having a "Birthday Fun Run", with activities and KR birthday ribbons. Check back.
