CALLING ALL WALKERS
25th Anniversary Running of Kaiser Permanente Corporate
Run/Walk & Fitness Program is For Everyone
Atlanta, GA (July 25, 2007) -- Running isn't solely for marathoners, thanks to the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program (KPCRW), celebrating 25 years in metro-Atlanta this year. Designed to be an all-inclusive community event, the KPCRW seeks to drum up workplace camaraderie in a big way within the Atlanta corporate community while providing real tools for increasing physical fitness and wellness among all participants.

The 2007 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk steps off on Thursday, September 27 at 7 p.m. and is hoping to target 25,000 participants from all over Georgia in commemoration of its 25th anniversary celebration. The 3.1 mile course is well-suited for both the tortoise and the hare - so whether you lace up your name-brand trainers or your trusty walking shoes, you'll fit right in. In fact, KPCRW race director and former Olympian, Jeff Galloway, is a fan of walking and has published a myriad of books for beginners, all of which emphasize the run-walk approach to fitness.

Since walkers comprise more than 50 percent of the total number of KPCRW participants, the fair-weather athlete need not be daunted by the serious runner, who lines up in a separate section -- the "Elite Runner's" area. The Elite Runner's section offers men running a six-minute mile or better and women running a seven-minute mile or better a spot in front of the pack. Moreover, a single company may enter as many applicants as they choose, regardless of whether they will be competing at similar levels. As a bonus to all participants, a free 8-week membership to Bally Total Fitness is available as part of the 'Get Active Atlanta' initiative that kicks off the KPCRW fitness program, beginning August 2.

And because the KPCRW caters to all levels of fitness, friends, family and applicants under 18 years of age are encouraged to partake in the fun. The annual event culminates with hundreds of company picnics - the 'World's Largest Office Party' - providing a grand opportunity for community involvement, company camaraderie and business networking in a festive and casual setting.

Walkers (and runners, too) are invited to learn more about the 25th running of the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program by visiting www.kpcorporaterunwalk.com or calling (404) 843-8727.
