Week 10, Art by Club Kids
Our Happy Feet, Healthy Food Kids' Club has come to the end for spring 2005.
The temperature was in the 90s with high humidity, so the day of our fun run, we took a shady and cool nature walk. We were saving our legs for running.
When we approached the pond, we quieted down, hoping for a bullfrog concert. We were lucky. Within 30 seconds the bullfrogs were playing their bass guitars. We listened for a few moments and then headed indoors.
The children journaled, received their ribbons and then spent the remainder of the session recording their 8 best memories of Happy Feet.
It's always a simple fun run. We run a 1-K and go home. This year we added medals, stuffy toys (little zippered stuffed animals with books inside), popsicles, and WATER for the hot conditions. The kids run, run/walk, or walk the 1-K with their families.
