Jason Pyrah, Olympics 2000

KR Mini-Interview

KR: Which sports did you play at the age of ten?
Jason: I loved playing outside with my friends. My favorite activities included playing kickball and dodgeball in P.E. class.

I always looked forward to the Presidental Physical Fitness. I always did very well in 5 out of the 6 events. I never could broad jump very well! I finally scored high enough in all 6 events when I got into the 6th grade and finally earned the Presidental Physical Fitness Award.

KR: Did you participate in any training for running?
Jason: Not really. I loved playing and riding bikes after school with my friends.

KR: Did you run during your playtime?
Jason: I remember playing make believe professional football and basketball with my younger brother Kurtis.

KR: How many hours did you spend on running and other sports?
Jason: I would play for hours while we watched the games on TV. Most of the time we played with Nerf balls.
