KR Mini-Interview
KR: Which sports did you play at the age of ten?
Amby:
I played basketball and baseball, my big favorite (third
base).
KR: Did you participate in any training for running?
Amby: No, but I liked running the mile
every year in
gym class because I always did well.
KR: Did you run during your playtime? Amby: Constantly! I was always playing one sport
or another
after school with friends; or just "tag" and "hide and seek"
games.
KR: How many hours or miles did you spend or cover on running and other sports? Amby: Countless.

Amby Burfoot won the Boston Marathon in 1968. He has won the Manchester Road Race nine times and participated in the race 39 times. Amby is the executive editor of RUNNER'S WORLD magazine. Birthday: August 19, 1946 Place of Birth: Charlottesville, Virginia
