She also won the Freihofer's 5k US Championship on the roads in 1999. In 2001 she competed for the US at the Indoor World Championships in Lisbon, Portugal in the 3000 meters where she finished 13th. Three weeks later she went on to compete at the World Cross Country Championships in Oostend, Belgium running the 4k distance. And in 2002 she finished a close 2nd a the US Indoor Track and Field Championships at the 3000 meters in NYC. She has also been ranked in the top five in the US in one or more events since 1995 by Track and Field News.
