Other:	The City of Morgan Hill remains one of only two cities in the Bay Area that continues to have all-day events surrounding the 4th of July. Our 4th of July Celebration includes a 5k & 1 mile run/walk, parade, family festival, fireworks and entertainment show, patriotic sing and other activities. In 2008, the events drew over 50,000 people and the parade itself is the largest privately organized parade in all of Northern California. All profits support Morgan Hill's Independence celebration. The course is flat and fast through parade route through downtown Morgan Hill - many of the parade spectators will be along the course and will be cheering you on! Parents may run with their children if necessary in the Kid's 1 mile but is asked to P L E A S E peel off just before the finish line. The kid's 1 mile starts at 7:45 am The 5K run/walk starts at 8:15 am A W A R D S: 5K Run/Walk (all participants recieve a T-Shirt) 1st-3rd Male & Female in each age group - receive a medal 1st male & 1st female of 5k- receive a trophy Kid's 1 Mile (all participants recieve a T-Shirt) Wrist bracelets for all children 1st boy & girl in each age group - receive a medal 1st boy & 1st girl of 1 Mile - receive a trophy 1st male & female from 5k along with 1st boy & girl from 1 mile - ride in the parade.
