Get set to walk, stroll or run at the U.S. Olympic Training Center on Saturday, June 6 as the center opens its gates to the public for the Chula Vista Community 5k Fun Run/Walk!

The fun run will be held at one of the most inspirational locations in San Diego County. Participants have the opportunity to run along side Olympians through the exclusive Olympic Village -- all to benefit a great cause! With the ongoing budget crisis at City Hall, many of the services and programs local children have come to enjoy are in jeopardy. In an effort to help ease the financial burden, the U.S. Olympic Training Center, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, South Bay Expressway and other sponsors have joined efforts and are partnering to benefit four local Chula Vista charity organizations: Friends of the Chula Vista Nature Center, Friends of Chula Vista Library, Friends of Chula Vista Park and Recreation and H.E.A.R.T. for the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility.

A community expo and celebration with food, fun and music will follow the race. The event is open to all ages, including walkers, families, community groups and corporate teams. Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome. Registration is now open on Active.com.
